About Me

An initial import, from the original Paulitex:

My name is Paul Roland Lambert.

After the rock star route didn’t pan out in high school, I moved to Vancouver to be an artsy. That went a little better. After a couple years studying hangover making and phenomenological philosophy, I graduated from UBC in 2006 with a double major in English and Anthropology.

Post-graduation I headed to China, to seek to my fortune. Just when my spoken Mandarin Chinese was finally getting pretty decent, I decided to move to New York City to start an illustrious career in publishing. There I learned that a) I didn’t want to work in publishing and b) All I did want to do was in technology.

So I went back to school and started UBC’s Bachelor of Computer Science program in Fall 2007. It has been fantastic. At time of writing , I have just finished my degree requirements and am tying it all up by taking two more courses, taking part in UCOSP as part of the Mercurial team, and working on my startup, Matygo. I’ll graduate in May 2010.
